Hornell Red Raiders (Hornell, NY) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Wellsville Lions (Wellsville, NY), 62-40 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Hornell upgrades its record to 7-1 on the season. The Red Raiders host Geneseo (Geneseo, NY) to play the Blue Devils in a non-league bout on Monday, January 15. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a record of 2-3.

Next up, the Lions play the Cuba-Rushford Rebels (Cuba, NY) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 17. Wellsville will attempt to upgrade on its 7-3 season record. The Rebels go into the bout with a 4-8 record after their 78-30 league loss to Fillmore (Fillmore, NY).
