In Friday's league bout, the host Salem Greyhounds basketball squad scored a big 84-25 win over the Hoxie Mustangs.

With the win, Salem upgrades its record to 14-5 on the season. The Greyhounds travel to Mountain View (Mountain View, AR) to play the Yellowjackets in a 3A Region 2 bout on Monday, January 15. The Yellowjackets go into the bout with a record of 12-8. Mountain View lost 57-51 in their recent league bout against Melbourne (Melbourne, AR)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR) in a 3A Region 2 bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Hoxie will attempt to upgrade on its 0-14 season record. The Greyhounds go into the bout with a 3-16 record after their 38-37 league loss to Walnut Ridge (Walnut Ridge, AR).
