Southwest Patriots (Macon, GA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Kendrick Cherokees (Columbus, GA), 53-14 in a league bout.

With the win, Southwest upgrades its record to 5-4 on the season. The Patriots host Academy for Classical Education (Macon, GA) to clash with the Gryphons in a AA Region 2 bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Gryphons go into the bout with a record of 6-7. Academy for Classical Education won 60-25 in their recent league bout against Rutland (Macon, GA)

Next up, the Cherokees clash with the Rutland Hurricanes (Macon, GA) in a AA Region 2 bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Kendrick will attempt to move on its 3-13 season record. The Hurricanes enter the game with a 0-13 record after their 60-25 league loss to Academy for Classical Education (Macon, GA).
