Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Pierz Pioneers (Pierz, MN) and the visiting Little Falls Flyers (Little Falls, MN), saw Pierz's basketball squad hold off Little Falls by a tally of 47-41.
With the victory, Pierz improves its record to 4-10 on the campaign. The Pioneers host Upsala (Upsala, MN) to confront the Cardinals in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 16. The Cardinals come into the challenge with a record of 7-7. Upsala won 69-58 in their recent non-league challenge against Pillager (Pillager, MN)
Next up, the Flyers confront the Rocori Spartans (Cold Spring, MN) in a AAA Section 8 challenge, on Tuesday, January 16. Little Falls will attempt to improve on its 7-5 season record. The Spartans come into the challenge with a 2-11 record after their 79-78 non-league win over Sauk Rapids-Rice (Sauk Rapids, MN).
