The Maize Eagles basketball team scored 50 points and restricted the visiting Newton Railroaders to 20 in the Eagles league triumph on Friday.

In their next game, the Eagles meet the Hutchinson Salthawks (Hutchinson, KS) in a non-league match, on Thursday, January 18. Maize will attempt to move on its 2-5 season record.

With the defeat, Newton moves to 1-5 on the year. The Railroaders host Derby (Derby, KS) to meet the Panthers in a non-league match on Monday, January 15. The Panthers enter the match with a record of 5-1. Derby won 71-23 in their recent non-league match against Southeast (Wichita, KS)
