Union Grove Lions (Gladewater, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host McLeod Longhorns (McLeod, TX), 33-25 in a league bout.

With the win, Union Grove upgrades its record to 19-4 on the season. The Lions travel to Harleton (Harleton, TX) to clash with the Wildcats in a 2A Region III District 21 bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 4-8. Harleton won 44-27 in their recent league bout against Big Sandy (Big Sandy, TX)

Next up, the Longhorns clash with the Harleton Wildcats (Harleton, TX) in a 2A Region III District 21 bout, on Friday, January 19. McLeod will attempt to upgrade on its 10-15 season record.
