In Friday's league match, the host Palestine Wildcats basketball team scored a decisive 49-24 triumph over the Rusk Eagles.
In their next game, the Wildcats face the Jacksonville Fightin' Indians (Jacksonville, TX) in a 4A Region III District 18 match, on Tuesday, January 16. Palestine will attempt to move on its 7-18 season record. The Fightin' Indians enter the match with a 20-8 record after their 40-28 league win over Bullard (Bullard, TX).
The Eagles (7-16) will now prepare for their battle against Hudson (Lufkin, TX). The Hornets come into the 4A Region III District 18 battle with a 14-14 record. In their last battle, Hudson was overwhelmed by Madisonville (Madisonville, TX), 62-35, in a league battle.
