Texas High School Basketball - Smithson Valley can't hold off Pieper

The Pieper Warriors basketball team scored 50 points and restricted the host Smithson Valley Rangers to 45 in the Warriors league victory on Friday.

The Warriors now sport a 21-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Seguin for a 5A Region IV District 26 contest on Tuesday, January 16. Pieper will battle a Matadors team coming off a 64-45 league loss to Boerne-Champion (Boerne, TX). The Matadors record now stands at 8-20.

The Rangers (10-10) will now prepare for their contest against Tivy (Kerrville, TX). The Antlers come into the 5A Region IV District 26 contest with a 17-5 record. In their last contest, Tivy edged Pieper (San Antonio, TX), 51-46, in a league contest.
