Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Port Neches-Groves Indians (Port Neches, TX) and the visiting Sterling Rangers (Baytown, TX), saw Port Neches-Groves's basketball squad hold off Sterling by a count of 55-49.
With the victory, Port Neches-Groves upgrades its record to 11-19 on the campaign. The Indians travel to Goose Creek Memorial (Baytown, TX) to play the Patriots in a 5A Region III District 17 challenge on Tuesday, January 16. The Patriots come into the challenge with a record of 9-11.
Next up, the Rangers play the Nederland Bulldogs (Nederland, TX) in a 5A Region III District 17 challenge, on Tuesday, January 16. Sterling will attempt to upgrade on its 6-13 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 3-24 record after their 54-16 league loss to Barbers Hill (Mt. Belvieu, TX).
