North Carolina High School Basketball - Avery County trounces Madison

January 12, 2024: Newland, NC 28657

The Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC) basketball crushed the visiting Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC), 62-4 in Friday's non-league test.

The Vikings (8-1) will now prepare for their test against Rosman (Rosman, NC). The Tigers go into the non-league test with a 3-3 record. In their last test, Rosman was trounced by Draughn (Valdese, NC), 39-16, in a non-league test.

The Patriots now own a 0-6 record. They play next when they travel to Mountain Heritage for a test on Thursday, January 18. Madison will encounter a Cougars squad coming off a 42-41 league loss to Avery County (Newland, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 4-5.
