Virginia High School Basketball - Indian River holds off Oscar Smith

Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Indian River Braves (Chesapeake, VA) and the visiting Oscar Smith Tigers (Chesapeake, VA), saw Indian River's basketball squad hold off Oscar Smith by a tally of 65-58.

With the victory, Indian River improves its record to 7-1 on the campaign. The Braves travel to Grassfield (Chesapeake, VA) to confront the Grizzlies in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 16. The Grizzlies come into the challenge with a record of 2-5. Grassfield won 56-35 in their recent non-league challenge against Hickory (Chesapeake, VA)

Next up, the Tigers confront the Hickory Hawks (Chesapeake, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 16. Oscar Smith will attempt to improve on its 6-2 season record. The Hawks come into the challenge with a 1-7 record after their 56-35 non-league loss to Grassfield (Chesapeake, VA).
