Virginia High School Basketball - William Monroe edges Rockbridge County

The William Monroe Dragons (Stanardsville, VA) basketball nipped the host Rockbridge County Wildcats (Lexington, VA), 53-51 in Friday's non-league test.

The Dragons (2-7) will now prepare for their test against Spotswood (Penn Laird, VA). The Trailblazers go into the non-league test with a 11-2 record. In their last test, Spotswood got by Liberty Christian (Lynchburg, VA), 58-44, in a non-league test.

The Wildcats now own a 0-14 record. They play next when they travel to Parry McCluer for a non-league test on Saturday, January 13. Rockbridge County will encounter a Fighting Blues squad coming off a 53-28 non-league win over Craig County (New Castle, VA). The Fighting Blues record now stands at 4-6.
