The Spartans now sport a 1-0 record. They play next when they travel to Vanguard Academy Mozart for a 4A Region 4 District 30 test on Tuesday, January 16.

With the loss, Zapata drops to 0-3 on the season. The Hawks travel to Santa Maria (Santa Maria, TX) to meet the Cougars in a non-league test on Wednesday, January 17. The Cougars come into the test with a record of 1-5. Santa Maria lost 7-0 in their recent non-league test against Floresville (Floresville, TX)
