Sutherlin Bulldogs (Sutherlin, OR) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Marist Spartans (Eugene, OR), 43-33 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Sutherlin upgrades its record to 12-1 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to South Umpqua (Myrtle Creek, OR) to clash with the Lancers in a 3A Far West bout on Friday, January 14. The Lancers go into the bout with a record of 1-3.

Next up, the Spartans clash with the Siuslaw Vikings (Florence, OR) in a 4A Sky Em bout, on Friday, January 14. Marist will attempt to upgrade on its 7-3 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 0-11 record after their 39-19 non-league loss to North Valley (Grants Pass, OR).
