Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Lawrence Golden Tornadoes (Cedarhurst, NY) and the visiting Academy Charter (Hempstead, NY), saw Lawrence's basketball squad knock off Academy Charter by a tally of 59-42.

With the victory, Lawrence improves its record to 8-5 on the campaign. The Golden Tornadoes travel to Carle Place (Carle Place, NY) to play the Frogs in a non-league challenge on Monday, January 16. The Frogs come into the challenge with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the play the Friends Academy Quakers (Locust Valley, NY) in a Section 8 VII challenge, on Saturday, January 21. Academy Charter will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record.
