Greenwood Rangers (Midland, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Andrews Mustangs (Andrews, TX), 42-30 in a league bout.

With the victory, Greenwood upgrades its record to 17-7 on the campaign. The Rangers host Seminole (Seminole, TX) to play the Indians in a 4A Region I District 3 bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Indians come into the bout with a record of 16-7. Seminole won 55-32 in their recent league bout against Fort Stockton (Fort Stockton, TX)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Pecos Eagles (Pecos, TX) in a 4A Region I District 3 bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Andrews will attempt to upgrade on its 6-15 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 7-15 record after their 52-28 league loss to Monahans (Monahans, TX).
