California High School Basketball - Avenal ripped by Mendota

The Mendota Aztecs basketball team scored 84 points and held the visiting Avenal Buccaneers to 54 in the Aztecs league triumph on Friday.

The Aztecs now sport a 13-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Fowler for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 14. Mendota will meet a Redcats team coming off a 67-36 league win over Liberty (Madera, CA). The Redcats record now stands at 11-7.

The Buccaneers (8-5) will now prepare for their contest against Dos Palos (Dos Palos, CA). The Broncos enter the West Sierra contest with a 4-13 record. In their last contest, Dos Palos was routed by Coalinga (Coalinga, CA), 43-35, in a league contest.
