The Avinger Indians basketball team (Avinger, TX), was overwhelmed 64-41 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Saltillo Lions (Saltillo, TX)
The Lions now possess a 18-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Union Hill for a 1A Region III District 24 battle on Tuesday, January 17. Saltillo will confront a Bulldogs team coming off a 47-35 league loss to Sulphur Bluff (Sulphur Bluff, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 8-7.
The Indians (5-18) will now prepare for their battle against Bloomburg (Bloomburg, TX). The Wildcats come into the 1A Region III District 24 battle with a 0-10 record. In their last battle, Bloomburg was overwhelmed by Avery (Avery, TX), 65-16, in a league battle.
