West Mesa Mustangs (Albuquerque, NM) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Belen Eagles (Belen, NM), 66-29 in a non-league bout.

With the win, West Mesa upgrades its record to 12-4 on the season. The Mustangs host La Cueva (Albuquerque, NM) to clash with the Bears in a 5A District 2 bout on Wednesday, January 18. The Bears go into the bout with a record of 9-6. La Cueva lost 71-56 in their recent non-league bout against Atrisco Heritage Academy (Albuquerque, NM)

Next up, the Eagles clash with the St. Pius X Sartans (Albuquerque, NM) in a 4A District 5 bout, on Wednesday, January 18. Belen will attempt to upgrade on its 3-14 season record. The Sartans go into the bout with a 10-6 record after their 56-55 non-league loss to Hope Christian (Albuquerque, NM).
