Bellville Brahmas (Bellville, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Needville Bluejays (Needville, TX), 49-47 in a league bout.

With the victory, Bellville upgrades its record to 15-7 on the campaign. The Brahmas travel to Royal (Brookshire, TX) to play the Falcons in a 4A Region IV District 25 bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Falcons come into the bout with a record of 8-11. Royal won 77-55 in their recent league bout against Sealy (Sealy, TX)

Next up, the Bluejays play the Navasota Rattlers (Navasota, TX) in a 4A Region IV District 25 bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Needville will attempt to upgrade on its 9-12 season record. The Rattlers come into the bout with a 9-11 record after their 52-26 league win over Bellville (Bellville, TX).
