The Goodrich Spartans (Goodrich, MI) basketball felled the host Brandon Blackhawks (Ortonville, MI), 48-40 in Friday's league test.

The Spartans (7-0) will now prepare for their test against Swartz Creek (Swartz Creek, MI). The Dragons go into the non-league test with a 1-8 record. In their last test, Swartz Creek was beaten by Linden (Linden, MI), 54-49, in a league test.

The Blackhawks now own a 4-4 record. They play next when they travel to Flushing for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 17. Brandon will encounter a Raiders squad coming off a 54-52 league loss to Holly (Holly, MI). The Raiders record now stands at 2-6.
