In Friday's league outing, the El Paso Tigers (El Paso, TX) basketball squad nipped the visiting Burges Mustangs (El Paso, TX), by a margin of 42-41.

The Tigers (7-14) will now prepare for their outing against Chapin (El Paso, TX). The Huskies go into the 5A Region I District 1 bout with a 17-6 record. In their last bout, Chapin held off Canutillo (Canutillo, TX), 64-43, in a league bout.

Next up, the Mustangs play the Andress Eagles (El Paso, TX) in a 5A Region I District 1 bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Burges will attempt to upgrade on its 9-12 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 12-11 record after their 70-22 league win over Jefferson (El Paso, TX).
