In Friday's league outing, the Eastside Spartans (Coeburn, VA) basketball squad overwhelmed the host Castlewood Blue Devils (Castlewood, VA), by a margin of 71-41.

The Spartans (6-6) will now prepare for their outing against Twin Springs (Nickelsville, VA). The Titans go into the Cumberland outing with a 9-4 record. In their last outing, Twin Springs smashed J.I. Burton (Norton, VA), 52-36, in a league outing.

The Blue Devils now own a 0-14 record. They play next when they host Lebanon for a non-league outing on Monday, January 16. Castlewood will encounter a Pioneers squad coming off a 86-42 league win over Rural Retreat (Rural Retreat, VA). The Pioneers record now stands at 12-2.
