In Friday's non-league match, the host Chanute Blue Comets basketball team scored a tight 57-51 triumph over the Independence Bulldogs.
In their next game, the Blue Comets meet the Bishop Miege Stags (Shawnee Mission, KS) in a non-league match, on Thursday, January 19. Chanute will attempt to move on its 5-2 season record.
