Louisiana High School Basketball - DeQuincy topped by Welsh

The Welsh Greyhounds basketball team scored 77 points and restricted the visiting DeQuincy Tigers to 60 in the Greyhounds league victory on Friday.

The Greyhounds now sport a 12-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lake Arthur for a 2A District 5 contest on Tuesday, January 17. Welsh will battle a Tigers team coming off a 66-31 league win over Grand Lake (Lake Charles, LA). The Tigers record now stands at 7-6.

The Tigers (1-12) will now prepare for their contest against Notre Dame (Crowley, LA). The Pioneers come into the 2A District 5 contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, Notre Dame was defeated by Lake Arthur (Lake Arthur, LA), 50-34, in a league contest.
