Teague Lions (Teague, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Elkhart Elks (Elkhart, TX), 46-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Teague upgrades its record to 10-11 on the season. The Lions host Fairfield (Fairfield, TX) to clash with the Eagles in a 3A Region III District 20 bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 7-13. Fairfield won 71-49 in their recent league bout against Westwood (Palestine, TX)

Next up, the Elks clash with the Buffalo Bison (Buffalo, TX) in a 3A Region III District 20 bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Elkhart will attempt to upgrade on its 7-18 season record. The Bison go into the bout with a 10-14 record after their 91-40 league loss to Mexia (Mexia, TX).
