The Kaplan Pirates basketball team (Kaplan, LA), was nudged 59-53 in Friday's league battle with the host Erath Bobcats (Erath, LA)
The Bobcats now possess a 8-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Abbeville for a 3A District 5 battle on Tuesday, January 17. Erath will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 77-43 league win over Crowley (Crowley, LA). The Wildcats record now stands at 11-5.
The Pirates (3-8) will now prepare for their battle against St. Martinville (St. Martinville, LA). The Tigers come into the 3A District 5 battle with a 13-11 record. In their last battle, St. Martinville edged Central (Baton Rouge, LA), 51-44, in a non-league battle.
