The Gretna Hawks (Gretna, VA) basketball crushed the host Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA), 62-40 in Friday's league test.
The Hawks (8-7) will now prepare for their test against Appomattox County (Appomattox, VA). The Raiders go into the Dogwood test with a 1-10 record. In their last test, Appomattox County was trounced by Rustburg (Rustburg, VA), 64-44, in a non-league test.
The Governors now own a 2-8 record. They play next when they travel to William Campbell for a Dogwood test on Tuesday, January 17. Nelson County will encounter a Generals squad coming off a 48-47 league win over Dan River (Ringgold, VA). The Generals record now stands at 5-6.
