Hanover Hawks (Mechanicsville, VA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Mechanicsville Mustangs (Mechanicsville, VA), 56-40 in a league bout.

With the victory, Hanover upgrades its record to 8-6 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to Henrico (Richmond, VA) to play the Warriors in a Capital bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Warriors come into the bout with a record of 6-8. Henrico lost 73-53 in their recent league bout against Varina (Richmond, VA)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Highland Springs Springers (Highland Springs, VA) in a Capital bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Mechanicsville will attempt to upgrade on its 1-12 season record. The Springers come into the bout with a 6-4 record after their 62-49 non-league win over Freeman (Richmond, VA).
