Midland Rebels (Midland, LA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Hathaway Hornets (Jennings, LA), 77-72 in a league bout.

With the win, Midland upgrades its record to 8-15 on the season. The Rebels host JS Clark Leadership Academy (Opelousas, LA) to play the Bulldogs in a B District 6 bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 5-8. JS Clark Leadership Academy won 34-25 in their recent league bout against Episcopal of Acadiana (Cade, LA)

Next up, the Hornets play the Lacassine Cardinals (Lacassine, LA) in a B District 6 bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Hathaway will attempt to upgrade on its 6-11 season record. The Cardinals go into the bout with a 12-9 record after their 70-57 league win over Bell City (Bell City, LA).
