Highland Rebels (Hardy, AR) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Southside Southerners (Batesville, AR), 58-41 in a league bout.

With the victory, Highland upgrades its record to 11-5 on the campaign. The Rebels travel to Trumann (Trumann, AR) to play the Wildcats in a 4A Region 3 bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 4-11. Trumann won 60-56 in their recent league bout against Westside (Jonesboro, AR)

Next up, the Southerners play the Pocahontas Redskins (Pocahontas, AR) in a 4A Region 3 bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Southside will attempt to upgrade on its 7-5 season record.
