Sparta Spartans (Sparta, MI) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Kelloggsville Rockets (Wyoming, MI), 66-59 in a league bout.

With the win, Sparta upgrades its record to 5-4 on the season. The Spartans travel to NorthPointe Christian (Grand Rapids, MI) to play the Mustangs in a Ottawa-Kent - Silver bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 7-3. NorthPointe Christian won 61-51 in their recent league bout against Hopkins (Hopkins, MI)

Next up, the Rockets play the Lakeview Spartans (Battle Creek, MI) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 14. Kelloggsville will attempt to upgrade on its 0-9 season record. The Spartans go into the bout with a 5-2 record after their 59-39 league win over Gull Lake (Richland, MI).
