In Friday's league outing, the Waterville-Elysian-Morristown Buccaneers (Waterville, MN) basketball squad felled the visiting New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva Panthers (New Richland, MN), by a margin of 68-55.

The Buccaneers (2-10) will now prepare for their outing against Maple River (Mapleton, MN). The Eagles go into the AA Section 2 outing with a 12-2 record. In their last outing, Maple River thwarted Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton (Janesville, MN), 76-40, in a non-league outing.

The Panthers now own a 1-10 record. They play next when they host United South Central for a A Section 2 outing on Tuesday, January 17.
