Worthington Trojans (Worthington, MN) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting New Ulm Eagles (New Ulm, MN), 61-54 in a league bout.

With the win, Worthington upgrades its record to 8-2 on the season. The Trojans host Fairmont (Fairmont, MN) to play the Cardinals in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Cardinals go into the bout with a record of 1-8. Fairmont lost 61-56 in their recent league bout against Jackson County Central (Jackson, MN)

Next up, the Eagles play the Central Raiders (Norwood-Young America, MN) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 17. New Ulm will attempt to upgrade on its 9-3 season record. The Raiders go into the bout with a 9-2 record after their 71-61 league win over Belle Plaine (Belle Plaine, MN).
