Nowata Ironmen (Nowata, OK) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Oklahoma Union Cougars (South Coffeyville, OK), 47-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Nowata upgrades its record to 8-3 on the season. The Ironmen travel to Afton (Afton, OK) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 2-4. Afton won 23-19 in their recent league bout against Fairland (Fairland, OK)

Next up, the Cougars play the Dewey Bulldoggers (Dewey, OK) in a Northeast Valley bout, on Saturday, January 14. Oklahoma Union will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record.
