In Friday's non-league outing, the Pleasant Valley Bears (Brodheadsville, PA) basketball squad edged the visiting Stroudsburg Mountaineers (Stroudsburg, PA), by a margin of 47-41.

The Bears (6-7) will now prepare for their outing against Pocono Mountain West (Pocono Summit, PA). The Panthers go into the Mountain Valley outing with a 10-2 record. In their last outing, Pocono Mountain West held off Parkland (Allentown, PA), 69-45, in a non-league outing.

The Mountaineers now own a 2-10 record. They play next when they host East Stroudsburg South for a non-league outing on Tuesday, January 17. Stroudsburg will clash with a Cavaliers squad coming off a 49-37 non-league win over Honesdale (Honesdale, PA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 11-2.
