Winnsboro Raiders (Winnsboro, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Quitman Bulldogs (Quitman, TX), 60-49 in a league bout.

With the victory, Winnsboro upgrades its record to 8-12 on the campaign. The Raiders host Harmony (Big Sandy, TX) to play the Eagles in a 3A Region II District 13 bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 6-12. Harmony won 51-40 in their recent league bout against Mount Vernon (Mount Vernon, TX)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Mineola Yellowjackets (Mineola, TX) in a 3A Region II District 13 bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Quitman will attempt to improve on its 17-8 season record. The Yellowjackets come into the battle with a 14-8 record after their 49-38 league loss to Chapel Hill (Mount Pleasant, TX).
