The Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) basketball crushed the visiting Thomas Jefferson Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC), 72-26 in Friday's league test.
The Golden Lions (8-5) will now prepare for their test against Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC). The Yellow Jackets go into the 1A/2A Conference 40 test with a 12-4 record. In their last test, Bessemer City walloped Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC), 71-32, in a league test.
The Gryphons now own a 3-11 record. They play next when they host Burns for a 1A/2A Conference 40 test on Tuesday, January 17. Thomas Jefferson will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 70-28 league loss to East Gaston (Mt. Holly, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 7-7.
