In Friday's non-league outing, the Siegel Stars (Murfreesboro, TN) basketball squad edged the visiting Summit Spartans (Spring Hill, TN), by a count of 59-54.

The Stars (6-7) will now prepare for their outing against Blackman (Murfreesboro, TN). The Blaze go into the 4A District 7 outing with a 12-6 record. In their last outing, Blackman was tipped by Oakland (Murfreesboro, TN), 67-39, in a league outing.

The Spartans now hold a 8-11 record. They play next when they travel to Columbia Central for a 4A District 12 outing on Tuesday, January 17. Summit will clash with a Lions squad coming off a 61-53 league win over Ravenwood (Brentwood, TN). The Lions record now stands at 3-12.
