The Smith County Owls basketball team (Carthage, TN), dropped 63-54 in Friday's league battle with the host Westmoreland Eagles (Westmoreland, TN)

The Eagles now possess a 14-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Red Boiling Springs for a non-league contest on Monday, January 16. Westmoreland will meet a Bulldogs team coming off a 80-53 league loss to Pickett County (Byrdstown, TN). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-9.

The Owls (3-11) will now prepare for their contest against Macon County (Lafayette, TN). The Tigers enter the non-league contest with a 3-15 record. In their last contest, Macon County was defeated by White County (Sparta, TN), 83-40, in a league contest.
