Surrey Mustangs (Surrey, ND) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host South Prairie Royals (Minot, ND), 52-51 in a league bout.

With the win, Surrey upgrades its record to 3-6 on the season. The Mustangs host Powers Lake (Powers Lake, ND) to play the Ranchers in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 14. The Ranchers go into the bout with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Royals play the Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood Mavericks (Renville, ND) in a B Region 6 District 12 bout, on Monday, January 16. South Prairie will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record. The Mavericks go into the bout with a 3-3 record after their 62-44 league win over Our Redeemer's Christian (Minot, ND).
