Wayzata Trojans (Plymouth, MN) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host St. Michael-Albertville Knights (Albertville, MN), 76-58 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Wayzata upgrades its record to 7-3 on the season. The Trojans host Hopkins (Minnetonka, MN) to play the Royals in a AAAA Section 6 bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Royals go into the bout with a record of 11-1. Hopkins won 87-81 in their recent non-league bout against Andover (Andover, MN)

Next up, the Knights play the Edina Hornets (Edina, MN) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 17. St. Michael-Albertville will attempt to upgrade on its 5-5 season record. The Hornets go into the bout with a 6-5 record after their 69-66 non-league loss to Benilde-St. Margaret's (St. Louis Park, MN).
