Sullivan East Patriots (Bluff City, TN) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Tennessee Vikings (Bristol, TN), 76-74 in a league bout.

With the victory, Sullivan East upgrades its record to 6-9 on the campaign. The Patriots host Unaka (Elizabethton, TN) to play the Rangers in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 14. The Rangers come into the bout with a record of 2-10. Unaka lost 91-39 in their recent non-league bout against Chuckey-Doak (Afton, TN)

Next up, the Vikings play the Elizabethton Fighting Cyclones (Elizabethton, TN) in a 3A District 1 bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Tennessee will attempt to upgrade on its 15-5 season record. The Fighting Cyclones come into the bout with a 6-7 record after their 48-43 non-league win over Science Hill (Johnson City, TN).
