Liberty Lions (Peoria, AZ) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions (Glendale, AZ), 53-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Liberty upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Lions host Pinnacle (Phoenix, AZ) to play the Pioneers in a bout on Thursday, January 26. The Pioneers go into the bout with a record of 8-3.

Next up, the Mountain Lions play the Boulder Creek Jaguars (Anthem, AZ) in a bout, on Wednesday, January 18. Mountain Ridge will attempt to upgrade on its 4-6 season record. The Jaguars go into the bout with a 2-1 record after their 66-56 non-league loss to Brophy College Prep (Phoenix, AZ).
