California High School Basketball - Desert can't hold off Rosamond

The Desert Scorpions basketball team (Edwards AFB, CA), was nudged 44-43 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Rosamond Roadrunners (Rosamond, CA)
The Roadrunners now possess a 14-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mammoth for a High Desert battle on Tuesday, January 17. Rosamond will battle a Huskies team coming off a 36-7 league win over Frazier Mountain (Lebec, CA). The Huskies record now stands at 2-8.
The Scorpions (2-5) will now prepare for their battle against Frazier Mountain (Lebec, CA). The Falcons come into the High Desert battle with a 1-7 record. In their last battle, Frazier Mountain was nudged by Mammoth (Mammoth Lakes, CA), 36-7, in a league battle.
Fourth Quarter
Desert narrowly fell to Rosamond, suffering the close loss of 44-43. The game was back-and-forth. There were 15 lead changes in the game. Rosamond took the lead for good on a two. Trailing 30-26, Rosamond went on a 10-point run to take the lead. The Scorpions bested Rosamond 13-8 in the fourth quarter, their strongest of the game. Destiny Hart lead the Scorpions in scoring with 19 points. The Scorpions played a stifling defense, blocking 5 shots and grabbing 19 steals. Also contributing for the Scorpions wee Kalista Williams (7 points), Eden Hewes (6 points), Keira Gamboa (5 points), Nadiyah Baladez (4 points), and Riley Freeland (2 points).
