Elgin Huskies (Elgin, OR) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Griswold Grizzlies (Helix, OR), 42-37 in a league bout.

With the win, Elgin upgrades its record to 5-6 on the season. The Huskies host Nixyaawii Community (Pendleton, OR) to clash with the Eagles in a 1A Old Oregon bout on Friday, January 20. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 11-3. Nixyaawii Community won 47-13 in their recent league bout against Union (Union, OR)

Next up, the Grizzlies clash with the Echo Cougars (Echo, OR) in a 1A Old Oregon bout, on Saturday, January 14. Griswold will attempt to upgrade on its 4-4 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 7-5 record after their 34-29 league win over Nixyaawii Community (Pendleton, OR).
