Emporia Spartans (Emporia, KS) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Junction City/St. Xavier Bluejays (Junction City, KS), 56-24 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Emporia upgrades its record to 10-0 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Manhattan (Manhattan, KS) to play the Indians in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Indians come into the bout with a record of 4-6. Manhattan lost 48-32 in their recent non-league bout against Washburn Rural (Topeka, KS)

Next up, the Bluejays play the Blue Valley Northwest Huskies (Overland Park, KS) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 27. Junction City/St. Xavier will attempt to upgrade on its 1-8 season record. The Huskies come into the bout with a 3-4 record after their 44-38 non-league win over Blue Valley Southwest (Overland Park, KS).
