Gilbert Yellowjackets (Winsted, CT) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Wamogo Warriors (Litchfield, CT), 47-31 in a league bout.

With the win, Gilbert upgrades its record to 5-3 on the season. The Yellowjackets host Shepaug Valley (Washington, CT) to play the Spartans in a Berkshire bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 4-6. Shepaug Valley lost 57-17 in their recent league bout against Thomaston (Thomaston, CT)

Next up, the Warriors play the New Fairfield Rebels (New Fairfield, CT) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 16. Wamogo will attempt to upgrade on its 5-5 season record. The Rebels go into the bout with a 5-3 record after their 46-36 league loss to Immaculate (Danbury, CT).
