    The Lopez Lobos basketball team scored 53 points and held the visiting Weslaco East Wildcats to 35 in the Lobos league triumph on Friday.

    The Lobos now sport a 15-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Veterans Memorial for a 5A Region IV District 32 contest on Tuesday, January 17. Lopez will battle a Chargers team coming off a 67-9 league win over Porter (Brownsville, TX). The Chargers record now stands at 21-4.

    The Wildcats (6-9) will now prepare for their contest against Donna (Donna, TX). The Redskins enter the 5A Region IV District 32 contest with a 5-16 record.
