Mansfield Summit Jaguars (Arlington, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Midlothian Panthers (Midlothian, TX), 57-55 in a league bout.

With the victory, Mansfield Summit upgrades its record to 10-12 on the campaign. The Jaguars host Burleson (Burleson, TX) to play the Elks in a 5A Region I District 8 bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Elks come into the bout with a record of 3-19. Burleson lost 55-18 in their recent league bout against Midlothian Heritage (Midlothian, TX)

Next up, the Panthers play the Mansfield Timberview Wolves (Arlington, TX) in a 5A Region I District 8 bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Midlothian will attempt to upgrade on its 11-13 season record. The Wolves come into the bout with a 26-3 record after their 79-34 league win over Joshua (Joshua, TX).
